Lie Pie Title: Pepsi's New Patriotic Can Omits God from Pledge Editor's note: More Pledge of Allegiance "under God" madness!!!! Here's a statement on this viral email from the Pepsi website:
My favorite line in the viral email below is, "MY PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE HAS ALWAYS SAID "ONE NATION UNDER GOD." And that is true, if by "always" you mean "since 1954". You can read more about the "under God" frenzy on my blog, and check out similar viral emails here, here, and here. --Granny, 6/18/2009 (What on earth are you waiting for? That "Like" button isn't going to click itself. Do I have to do everything for you? Good Lord.) WATCH YOUR STEP: STEAMING VIRAL EMAIL B.S. STARTS HERE I HAVE TOO MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY OVER THERE FIGHTING FOR EVERYONE ELSE TO WORRY ABOUT "OFFENDING" ANYONE....MY PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE HAS ALWAYS SAID "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" DON'T BUY PEPSI IN THE NEW CAN! Subject: DON'T BUY PEPSI IN THE NEW CAN! Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new 'patriotic' can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Building, and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, 'Under God..' Pepsi said they didn't want to offend anyone. In that case, we don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office, either! So if we don't buy any Pepsi products, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words 'In God We Trust' on it. HOW FAST CAN YOU FORWARD THIS ONE?
